Learning at Home with The Oaks

At The Oaks, we pride ourselves on continuing to offer the broad and rich curriculum that we provide within school, at home. Throughout this time, we are constantly updating and researching our offer to ensure that we are giving our children and their parents the most support we can. As a school, we use Class Dojo for EYFS and Year 1 and Google Classroom from Year 2 to Year 6. During the autumn term, whilst the children were learning from school, they were shown how to effectively use this in order to maximise their learning at home. All pupils have individual logins and teachers can be emailed to assist with login in if there are any issues.  For more information on what each class is studying at the moment, check out each class’ page. Please feel free to share any of the work you are doing at home by simply adding #OaksCPHomeLearning to your tweets.

Accessing Class Dojo

Class Dojo allows our younger children to submit photos, videos and worksheets for their learning at home. The Reception and Y1 teachers work in close collaboration to allow the children at home to still access the fun of learning through the activities they are providing. On class dojo, children are provided with daily phonics videos, writing activities, maths sessions, reading lessons and much, much more. If you are having any issues with Class Dojo, please get in touch with Miss Kennedy (Reception) or Mrs Wilkinson (Year One). All the feedback for your learning will be given via Class Dojo.

Here is the user guide on how to access each online platform and how to submit work.

Accessing Google Classroom

How to access Google Classroom for parents

For our children in Y2-Y6, we believe that Google Classroom provides the most user and child friendly platform. Each day, our teachers provide a positive timetable allowing for maths, writing, reading and our unique broad curriculum. As well as lessons from our teachers, our children have access to the extra lessons that they would have with in school from external providers, for example, PE with Vara Sports.

If you have any problems logging in, then please speak to your class teacher.

All teachers will give feedback on home learning through Google Classroom. Home learning completed well is acknowledged and praised. There may be issues arising from the work, which the teacher will follow up in lesson time or online.

Additional Online Platforms

As a school, we have access to a range of wonderful online platforms which allow our children to enjoy the whole curriculum. For the following online platforms, children have their own personal login details. If you need reminding of a login, please contact your class teacher who will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. All the class teachers can view what the children have accessed and use these to set tasks.
