Good morning everyone,

Today, Thursday 4th February, is World Cancer Day. Cancer is a horrible disease that affects many people right across the world. Many of you will know someone who has, or has had cancer. The treatments available are now better than ever thanks to research and science and this continues to evolve.

During challenging times, kindness is the one thing that goes a long way to support those most in need. I am currently aiming to raise money which will be donated to Macmillan Cancer Support as this is a charity that demonstrates true kindness and compassion to those with cancer and their families.

Our community is full of kind people and I know how much our families care. I would like to invite all families to join me over the next 4 weeks, to raise money for Macmillan. I have pledged to walk 100 miles in 28 days. This will raise money for a vital cause but also give me much needed time away from my laptop! I wonder how many miles you and your family could walk?

I have set up a just giving page which can be found here https://donate.justgiving.com/donation-amount?uri=aHR0cHM6Ly9kb25hdGUtYXBpLmp1c3RnaXZpbmcuY29tL2FwaS9kb25hdGlvbnMvNjFmMTdlMjFkZDA2NGVhNDllNWRkMDVhYjJlODJhNTI=

So, set yourself a challenge, collect sponsors, get your coat on and lets get walking for this amazing cause. You can add your collected sponsors by clicking donate. Don’t forget to tweet about this to raise awareness @theoakscp.
